A warm sunny morning with a slight breeze greeted the riders
when warming up in readiness for the Phoenix C.C. (Aintree) Kavanagh 25 Time
Trial.
From the 54 on the start sheet we had a few DNS's and during the race a few
disappointments as there were also 6 DNF's Noticeable number 20, Andrew Allan,
who was well up as he passed the first checkpoint going into Church Lane.
The competition was high and as the riders turned right there were many going
quite well but it was difficult to spot the fastest rider until number 40,
John Morgan (Preston Wheelers) blasted past followed soon after by number
45, Steve Luddon (St. Helens CRC) and number 50, Peter Ware (St.Helens CRC).
At the finish board some of the early starters were waiting eagerly for the
results but in the end it was a clear win for John Morgan with a time of 53:53.
Steve Luddon was second fastest with a time of 55:20 and Peter Ware was third
and finished with a time of 56:25.
Fastest lady was Janet Hassall with a time of 1:06:24.
Fastest Vet was Garry Brown with a time of 56:45
Team Award went to St. Helens CRC with a Aggregate time of 2:55:18

Fastest VET on Standard was T.Horton (Warrington R.C.) with +19.22
